Impress your guests as soon as they open the front door
Impress your guests as soon as they open the front door

I think of front halls as the calling cards of homes: When you open the front door and cross the threshold, the first room you encounter sets the tone for what to expect in the rest of the house. Yet these critical "front of house" areas, considered mere transit areas to grander or more important rooms, are often (and unfortunately) overlooked. So forget the fact that you don't eat, lounge, entertain or sleep in them - embrace their potential as vital first impressions that speak volumes about the design direction of your home.
