Not everyone is celebrating the birth of a beluga whale at the Vancouver Aquarium.
Peter Hamilton of the animal rights group Lifeforce said yesterday that the new whale has been sentenced to life in what amounts to a toilet bowl, forced to swim in feces and urine.
The beluga Aurora gave birth to a calf on Sunday, and the aquarium reports the mother and baby are bonding well.
