Student-activist-turned-author Yves Engler, who was suspended by Concordia University in Montreal after protesting against a campus speech by former Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu, has lost a bid to appeal to the Supreme Court of Canada.

Mr. Engler, whose other claim to fame is that he dumped red paint on Foreign Affairs Minister Pierre Pettigrew in a protest last June, was denied leave to appeal by the top court yesterday.
