A Merritt, B.C., father has been found not criminally responsible for the first-degree murders of his daughter and two sons in their home in April 2008.

Allan Schoenborn has testified he thought his children were being sexually molested, and that killing them was the only way to end their suffering.

The former Vancouver roofer has been in custody since he was found, emaciated, hypothermic and with self-inflicted wounds to his arms, in the woods near Merritt following a 10-day manhunt.
