A water park in Brampton, Ont. will be closed on Sunday because of an armed robbery that took place in the early morning hours.

Peel Police say Wild Water Kingdom was closed due to the large amount of people, including staff, who needed to be interviewed by officers.

They say culprits armed with firearms robbed organizers of an event held at the water park on Saturday night.

Police are withholding further information on the early morning robbery, such as how much money was taken, until the investigation is complete.

A message released on Wild Water Kingdom's Twitter account and Facebook page said the waterpark would be open again on Monday and that all staff were safe.
