A labour arbitrator in Quebec recognized yesterday a labour union formed by employees of a local McDonald's restaurant, believed to be the first such union in North America.
Quebec Labour Commissioner Michel Denis recognized the union created by mostly young employees of the fast food restaurant last August and rejected arguments by the restaurant's owner who had said that the opinions of all the employees should have been taken into consideration. AFP
