Seventeen people suffered minor injuries in a bus accident in Montreal late Tuesday.
Police say the city bus was travelling down a hill in the east end, on Viau Boulevard, when the driver lost control, likely because of slippery conditions. The bus smashed into a tree on the centre median at about 10:45 p.m.

Stephane Smith, of the city's ambulance service, says the injuries were all minor and the people were taken to hospital as a precaution.
Firefighters needed to rescue the driver after the collision.
The driver, a man in his 40s, was trapped between the ticket machine and the wall behind his seat for about 15 minutes.
