Members of the fledgling Alberta Independence Party have voted to make separation of Alberta from Canada their primary goal.
The mandate was approved by a vote of 20-7 at the party's annual general meeting on the weekend.
The 600-member group is applying for official party status, said a worker in the office of Alberta's chief electoral officer. CP
