Head south off Queen Street, a little west of Spadina Avenue, then east at the graffiti portrait of Zion. Go past the fire escapes until you're almost at the overhang. Climb through the gap in the wrought-iron gate and step over the bursting garbage bag. Then sit down, lean back and unleash your inner eight-year-old. Just watch out for the broken beer bottles.

And get there fast: The secret swing hidden in a wedge-shaped space between two buildings off an alley behind Queen Street West could soon be drawing lineups. Since bloggers started mentioning the swing on-line recently, it's become an Internet curiosity.

The spot's a favourite among photographers, who began posting images of it on websites after artist Corwyn Lund created the swing last year, and a wave of new pictures have popped up this month. (Mr. Lund documented the installation in a film called Swingsite, first shown last fall.)

Whispers about the secret swing reached an apex last week after Joey deVilla featured it on his blog, accordionguy.blogware.com, and it was mentioned on , billed as "a directory of wonderful things."

Now MuchMusic is inquiring about its exact whereabouts, and some in the know are pleading for silence.

"I implore you. Treat Paradise Lost with respect," a reader named Carson wrote on Mr. deVilla's blog. "Tell the public about the secret sandbox, the secret ghost slide or the so-called secret Bermuda Triangle, but for the love of Christ, leave the secret swing . . . alone!"
