A 19-year-old man was shot dead in northern Toronto Monday evening, the third person to be killed by gun violence in the city in a week.

The most recent shooting happened shortly before 10 p.m. outside a housing complex at 1862 Sheppard Ave. W., between Jane and Keele streets, police said. EMS took the man to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police have not released the man's identity, made any arrests or given descriptions of the suspects.

Earlier in the day, officers made two arrests in connection with the shooting death of another teen last week.

Two boys, a 16-year-old and a 17-year-old, are charged with first-degree murder in the killing of Tyrone Bracken last Wednesday. The suspects' names cannot be released under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Mr. Bracken was found dead in the stairwell of a low-rise apartment building on Neptune Drive, near Bathurst Street and Highway 401, around 4 p.m.

The 16-year-old made his first court appearance Monday, while the 17-year-old was set to appear Tuesday.
