Sue Hutchison, Chief Commercial Officer
Payments Canada is pleased to announce the appointment of Sue Hutchison as Chief Commercial Officer.
Ms. Hutchison joins Payments Canada following 20+ years' experience at global financial institutions in retail and commercial banking and at one of Canada's largest fintechs focused on digital payment technology. Most recently, Ms. Hutchison was Group Head and Canada Country Manager at Finastra (formerly D+H). Prior to Finastra, she held Senior Vice President roles at both HSBC and Bank of America.
Payments Canada ensures that financial transactions in Canada are carried out safely and securely each day. The organization underpins the Canadian financial system and economy by owning and operating Canada's payment clearing and settlement infrastructure, including associated systems, bylaws, rules and standards. The value of payments cleared by Payments Canada's systems in 2017 was approximately $50 trillion or $200 billion every business day. Payments Canada is leading an industry initiative to modernize Canada's payment systems and provide a platform for innovation that facilitates faster, safe, and efficient payment options for Canadians.
