Where the great outdoors and indoors meet.

Is something in your heart yearning to answer your own call of the wild? To explore Canada's last, vast frontier and see how it will change you?

Just imagine bravely mushing your team over a frozen, pure-white landscape, then bunking down in a winter camp—the "dogs … fed, and the stars o'erhead … dancing heel and toe."

Or perhaps standing on the shores of a remote, pristine lake, reeling in one of our legendary northern pike—then dining al fresco on the deck of your rustic, but cozy, cabin.

Or maybe your call of the wild is a little more mild, and roughing it is something that happens only during daytime hours, while nighttime calls for hot tubs and saunas, fine dining and wine.

No matter what adventure your soul is seeking, rest assured you'll slumber in style—and even have wifi if that's something you can't live without—here in Yukon.

Cabin Fever

Have you ever wondered what the world would sound like without all that noise of the city? Imagine if the buses, cars, and trucks just went away, and took with them the ticking, humming, and buzzing of all the electronic devices that surround you. No phone would ring, no email ding. No jackhammer would echo in the distance. What would replace it all?

The best way to discover the answer is at a Yukon wilderness cabin. Experienced Yukon outfitters can take you in to remote, quiet places that can only be reached by floatplane and it's your choice if there are other neighbours nearby you or not.

These rustic-and-ready cabins are equipped with kitchenettes and basic furniture, but no electricity. And who needs it? The wood stove will keep you warm and the dazzling display of nature will be your entertainment. Canoe across a crystal-clear lake. Hike through an alpine fir forest looking for signs of moose, lynx, and hare. In summer, cast off for fish under the midnight sun. Fire up the sauna and when you're ready to cool down, go jump in the lake. (We say that in the nicest way possible.)

Don't blame us if at the end of your vacation you don't want to go back to what we call "the outside." More than one sourdough came here for a visit and decided to stay forever.

Wilderness Luxury

This is where the great outdoors and indoors meet; where raw, rugged wilderness and full service go hand in hand.

You might think you're leaving it all behind as your floatplane glides to a gentle stop before your luxurious log lodge, but you'll quickly discover the very best parts were here waiting for you. Bring your laptop or tablet and you'll have no trouble uploading daily bragging rights. Bring your taste for the finer things and enjoy wine perfectly paired to go with a signature meal of local fish, or even caribou and elk! Our experienced outfitters know that food is a major part of the experience. The chef's menu will not disappoint.

At day's end relax in the hot tub, or gather round the main room's fireplace to swap stories with other adventurers. Then toddle off to your comfy bed, pull the fresh linens up to your chin, and let the view from your bedroom window inspire your dreams. Just think: those city folks are falling asleep watching some late-night talk show; you're watching the northern lights, or catching the last rays of the midnight sun.

The Ultimate Camp-out

Maybe you still need that badge that sets you apart from all others. If drinking a sourtoe cocktail didn't do it (yes, it has a real human toe in it), then this surely will: a winter campout "trapper style" in a wall tent. Jump on the rails and hang on as your dog team follows your guide to your overnight location, then discover how warm a wall tent can be with just a wood stove for heat. You must venture out into the cold once or twice to see the aurora borealis' ghostly dance in the sky. Bring your camera – expert guides will show you how to capture it forever.
