LISTING AGENTS Douglas and Trevor Freeman, Freeman Real Estate Ltd.

The Action: This detached residence sits beside an alley behind commercial shops along Avenue Road, so it was listed for much less than comparable residences in a quieter setting. Despite that drawback, some buyers saw it as an affordable opportunity to move into the coveted Bedford Park community, which sparked a multiple offer situation within hours of the first few showings.

What They Got: Four years ago, a bungalow on a 36-by-130-foot corner lot was renovated into a two-storey residence with a built-in garage and upscale appointments, such as a master suite with hardwood floors, crown mouldings, pot lights, a walk-in closet and one of the largest of five bathrooms.

The main floor was arranged with a fireside living room, open dining area and a kitchen with stainless steel appliances, granite-topped island and adjacent breakfast table with leather benches, along with a family room with a gas fireplace and walkout to a fenced-in garden.

The second floor accommodates four sleeping quarters and the basement lodges a fifth bedroom off the open recreation room.

The Agent's Take: "The area that it's in is extremely desirable," says agent Trevor Freeman. "It's a beautiful home renovated with nothing to do but move in."

For instance, it has all the creature comforts buyers want. "It is a four-bedroom house with an additional bedroom in the basement," says Mr. Freeman. "The kitchen is always what draws people and this kitchen was very large and open with a breakfast bar and family room."
