The Action: Along one of the main streets in Kensington Market, the Kensington Market Lofts has such low turnover, nearly two dozen shoppers arranged showings for this two-bedroom unit within days. Before the end of the week, a deal was signed.

What They Got: A former George Brown College facility was converted into authentic lofts of varying sizes, layouts and heights, such as this 900-square-foot space with 13-foot ceilings, tile floors in the kitchen and dining area, and cork underfoot in the bedrooms and living room by the sliding balcony doors.

To tend to daily affairs, there is a four-piece bathroom and laundry facilities. The unit has monthly fees of $531 for water and heating. Rental parking is extra.

The Agent's Take: "If you want to be in a loft building, this is the only option in Kensington," agent Christopher Bibby said. "[The sellers'] daily routine and lifestyle centred around Kensington, whether getting their coffee or stopping at a food market on the way home."

This loft was also graced with luxuries. "The unique thing about this space is we had a balcony, but a lot of units don't, and our balcony had an unobstructed view facing north, overlooking U of T," Mr. Bibby said.

"[Furthermore] a lot of units tend to be very open-concept, but this one had a second bedroom that they used as a guest room and an office."
