LISTING AGENT Laura Golbeck, Royal LePage Estate Realty Ltd

The Action: This detached four-bedroom house in the Upper Beach community had more than 30 visitors each day of the open house, which was a good turnout in the heat of summer.

What They Got: This roughly 80-year-old home is situated on a 27-by-159-foot ravine lot just steps from both outdoor recreation and urban attractions, from the beach, waterfront parks and trails to Queen Street shops, restaurants and streetcars.

Within the last five years, various owners improved the house by updating the two bathrooms, including one off the lower-level recreation room, and replacing windows, siding, mechanical and plumbing systems.

In terms of style, the interiors mix classic and modern décor, from a living room with a wood burning fireplace and hardwood floors to an open concept dining and kitchen area with granite counters, stainless steel appliances and double doors to a deck, yard and garage at the end of a mutual driveway.

The Agent's Take: "This home is located on a quiet, tree-lined street in a great, friendly neighbourhood between the Beach and Leslieville," says agent Laura Golbeck. "One of the best features of the home for buyers was the property – there is a large deck off the dining area overlooking the perennial gardens and mature trees and then a second set of stairs leading to a large grassy area in a ravine setting."

While the size of the house is typical for the area, the interior design was extraordinary. "It's a lovely four-bedroom, two-bathroom home with a beautiful finished basement, so it was very desirable to buyers," adds Ms. Golbeck. "It is completely renovated and tastefully decorated from top to bottom."
