Each year, the World Economic Forum puts out a global competitiveness ranking. This year, Canada holds its place at No. 14, prompting many to ask why and what this means for our ability to compete on the global stage.

How are we doing on innovation? Are government programs working to spur research and commercialization? What sectors should we focus on? How can we spur growth? Are we hollowing out our head offices or encouraging investment?
