Boutique brokerage Paradigm Capital has a pair of new energy bankers that it has hired from Haywood Securities.
Mark Reynolds, a managing director in Haywood's Calgary office, and associate Craig Marchuk have moved to Paradigm.
Mr. Reynolds is replacing a departed banker, while Mr. Marchuk will be filling a new position for the firm.
Equity focused boutiques like Paradigm are coming off a rough stretch, but there are signs of optimism for their businesses as investors show signs of shifting their focus from bonds and income to growth and equities. Even amid that, energy has remained a bright spot for many firms, as deal activity in the oil patch has fared better than other areas such as mining.
