They don't call him Money Mayweather for nothing. American boxer Floyd Mayweather is the world's highest-paid athlete, having netted $300-million (U.S.) over the past year, according to Forbes' latest ranking of athlete pay. Mayweather earned much of his cash from a May fight versus Manny Pacquiao, who finished in second with $160-million in earnings. Soccer stars Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi placed third and fourth, respectively. Tennis player Roger Federer ranked fifth, though unlike the previous four, the majority of his income came from endorsements. Forbes' calculations are for the last 12 months ending June 1.
