A survey finds a strong relationship between work-life balance and positive ethical behaviours at work.

The survey, conducted by Harris Interactive on behalf of Deloitte & Touche USA, also showed that the behaviour of management and direct supervisors, coupled with positive reinforcement for ethical behaviour, are the top factors for promoting ethical behaviour in the work force.

Ninety-one per cent of the more than 1,000 workers surveyed agreed that workers are more likely to behave ethically at work when they have a good work-life balance.

Forty-two per cent ranked the behaviour of management and 36 per cent the behaviour of direct supervisors as the top two factors contributing to the promotion of an ethical workplace.
