Texas Rangers assigned outfielder Jason McDonald outright to Oklahoma of the Pacific Coast League; claimed right-handed pitcher Scott Randall off waivers from the Minnesota Twins and optioned him to Oklahoma; transferred right-handed pitcher Danny Kolb from the 15- to the 60-day disabled list. Toronto Blue Jays signed left-handed pitcher Eric Stephenson, second baseman Ulyses Davenport, right-handed pitcher Scott Cavey and catcher Kurt Keene; announced right-handed pitcher Leo Estrella has been moved from Tennessee of the Southern League to Syracuse of the International League and right-handed pitcher Scott Cassidy has been moved from Dunedin of the Florida State League to Tennessee. Buffalo Sabres announced they will not exercise their contract option on right winger Rob Ray, who will become an unrestricted free agent July 1. Chicago Blackhawks signed right winger Ryan VandenBussche. Colorado Avalanche signed defenceman Ray Bourque to a one-year contract. Florida Panthers signed right winger Denis Shvidki.
