Bo knows a great dunk.
Canadian Andrew Wiggins scored a perfect 60 and brought former superstar athlete Bo Jackson to his feet with a spectacular dunk Monday at Jam Fest, part of the McDonald's All-American festivities.
Still, the six-foot-seven small forward from Vaughan, Ont., had trouble on his other three dunks and wound up finishing fourth.
The 18-year-old Wiggins, the top-ranked player in the 2013 class, threw down a massive reverse between-the-legs dunk on his second attempt that had Jackson – one of the judges and former football and baseball star – on his feet bowing down in we're-not-worthy fashion.
Florida signee Chris Walker, who had the only other perfect 60 on the night, won the title. Aaron Gordon was second, while Duke signee and hometown favourite Jabari Parker finished third in front of a capacity crowd that squeezed into the 1,658-seat Gerald Ratner Athletics Center.
Wiggins is the headliner in Wednesday's All-American Game, winning the Naismith Trophy as this season's top high schooler in the U.S. He's also expected to go first overall in the 2014 NBA draft.
Former Toronto Raptor Antonio Davis was on hand to see his daughter Kaela win the girl's three-point shootout.
Raptors swingman DeMar DeRozan won the McDonald's slam dunk contest in 2008. Vince Carter claimed the dunk crown in 1995.
Canadian Corey Joseph, a guard with the San Antonio Spurs, won the three-point shootout in 2010.
