The Hamilton Tiger-Cats signed Canadian defensive lineman Luc Mullinder and re-signed Canadian defensive back Marc Beswick to a contract extension through the 2013 season Wednesday.

Mullinder, a six-foot-four, 288-pound native of Mississauga, Ont., recorded 88 tackles and 15 quarterback sacks in eight seasons with the Saskatchewan Roughriders before being traded to the Montreal Alouettes on Aug. 8. Mullinder was released by the Alouettes on Monday.

Beswick, a 6-1, 198-pound Vancouver native, currently leads the Ticats with 11 special teams tackles after registering a team-leading 22 in 2010. The Saint Mary's product signed with the Ticats as a free agent on June 27, 2009, after one season with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

In 45 games over four seasons, Beswick has made 53 special teams tackles, five defensive tackles and one fumble recovery.

The Ticats also announced the team has released non-import defensive lineman Sean Ortiz.
