Former NHLers Vincent Damphousse and Stu Grimson have joined the National Hockey League Players' Association staff.

Grimson, a former player representative and executive committee vice-president, will be working in the labour department dealing with several issues, including grievances, league-player discipline and arbitrations.

Grimson, a tough guy and brawler during his NHL career, which ended midway through the 2001-02 season, graduated from law school at the University of Memphis late last year.

He amassed 2,113 penalty minutes as a pro.

Damphousse, also a former player rep and executive committee vice-president, is the NHLPA's new director of business relations. He will be working with the organization's business partners in addition to participating in other revenue-generating initiatives. He will also serve as a trustee on the pension board.
