Tim Fuller-US PRESSWIRETim Fuller

One of the players in the series of stories by NewsChannel 5, a Nashville television station, about the Predators' maneuvers in grabbing some extra money from the Tennessee taxpayers, protests she was mischaracterized by the author.

The latest story http://www.newschannel5.com/story/16124706/fact-checking-claims-by-nashville-predators from the television station dismisses a Predators blog that carried the team's response to charges of going around an agreement with the city of Nashville to get more tax money from the state. Predators president Sean Henry declined to speak to Phil Williams, the lead reporter for NewsChannel 5 on the story, but did hold a conference call with some web-based writers.

One of them was Amanda DiPaola, who writes the blog in question, InsideSmashville.com. She did not like being referred to in the NewsChannel 5 report as a "pro-Preds blogger" who is "addicted to the Predators."

While she pleads guilty to writing a blog, DiPaolo protests she is not your typical blogger. She is a constitutional law professor at Middle Tennessee State University, which puts her a degree or three above your average sports writer.
