Canada's Catharine Pendrel won her third UCI World Cup mountain bike race of the season Saturday.

The Kamloops, B.C., native won the season's final event in one minutes 25:07 seconds for a 29-second lead on Poland's Maja Wloszczowska.

The result meant Pendrel finished second overall in World Cup standings with 1,420 points behind France's Julie Bresset, who won the overall title with 1,460 points.

Pendrel, who is the top-ranked women's cyclist, had five podium appearances in seven World Cup races.

Marie-Helene Premont of Chateau Richer, Que., finished fourth in the standings at 820 points.

In the men's Elite category, Geoff Kabush of Courtenay, B.C., was the top Canadian in the last race of the season, taking the 35th position.

Kabush finished the season ranked 24th two years after winning the World Cup title.
