The Pittsburgh Penguins, hit hard by injuries to defencemen, added two backliners yesterday, signing Jeff Norton and trading a ninth-round draft choice to the New York Islanders to reacquire Dan Trebil.
The Penguins have lost three defencemen in less than week -- Janne Laukkanen (knee ligament) Bob Boughner (broken wrist) and Ian Moran (broken hand).
Norton and Trebil are expected to join the Pens for their game tomorrow in St. Louis.
