The Ottawa Senators settled their goaltending logjam Wednesday, sending Alex Auld to the Dallas Stars for a sixth-round pick in the 2010 draft.
Auld had a solid season with the Senators, going 16-18-7 with a 2.47 goals-against average, .911 save percentage and one shutout in 43 appearances. He was made expendable after the Senators acquired Pascal Leclaire from the Columbus Blue Jackets in March.
Leclaire is expected to be Ottawa's starter this season, backed up by Brian Elliott.
Auld, 28, was Florida's second-round pick (40th overall) in 1999. He has a 74-75-25 record with a 2.76 GAA, .905 save percentage and six shutouts in 183 career NHL games with the Panthers, Senators, Vancouver Canucks, Phoenix Coyotes and Boston Bruins.
