RBC Investments Canadian Painting Competition. Until Nov. 28, check out the 15 finalists for Canada's leading painting prize for emerging artists. All of them will be showing their work at MoCCA's newly christened downtown space, including the winner, Toronto painter Dionne Simpson, and the two shortlisted finalists, Brad Phillips and Laurel Smith. Whodun?t: OCAD Mystery Art Sale Gala. This annual event is one of the season's most imaginative fundraisers, with the audience invited to ferret out the best and the brightest (and the most valuable) from 150 anonymous works of art. How high would you be willing to go if you thought you might be bidding on a David Urban, Ian Carr-Harris, Gina Rorai, John Scott, Tony Scherman or Roy Arden? There's only one way to find out.
