MOVIES

A Thousand Acres (1997)

Family, 9 p.m.

This rural twist on King Lear has Jason Robards as an aging farmer who divvies up his land between his three daughters (Michelle Pfeiffer, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Jessica Lange). The past haunts them all, as do deceit and treachery, with lessons learned too late about loyalty, abuse, betrayal and trust. Colin Firth and Keith Carradine are among the men folk.

Feeling Minnesota (1996)

APTN, 9 p.m.

It's untethered by the niceties of plot, but there's no end of energy in this story of a newly sprung convict (Keanu Reeves) attending the wedding of his brother (Vincent D'Onofrio) to a stripper (a wonderfully tacky Cameron Diaz) who's been forced to marry the lout to pay her debts. When Keanu and Cameron meet, sparks fly, and a madcap chase and fraternal revenge gallop across the screen.
