The grey landscapes in the latest Star Wars movies are actually here on Earth: they're the islands off the coast of the Dingle Peninsula in Ireland, which I visited recently (and where Lucasfilm is currently shooting the next instalment). The islands may be grey but the peninsula itself, the most south westerly part of Ireland, is a beautiful coastal region with fine archeological sites. It's seductive and I didn't want to leave.
