The Toronto rock band Zeus
Windsor folk rock group Michou and Toronto-based Zeus were both $25,000 winners at this year's Verge Music Awards Tuesday night in Toronto.
The band Michou won Artist of the Year, while Zeus's Say Us was named Album of the Year.
The Verge awards, sponsored by XM Canada satellite radio service, are based on online voting. Michou enticed voters by offering a free downloadable song and free appearances in some of the regions that sent in the most votes.
Vancouver singer-songwriter Hannah Georgas won the $5,000 award for Emerging Artist of the Year.
