Vancouver artist Etienne Zack was named the winner of the RBC Canadian Painting Competition yesterday, taking home the $25,000 first prize for his work escape from shapes.
Honourable mentions, along with $15,000 prizes, were handed out to two of the competition's 15 semi-finalists -- Mathew Reichertz of Halifax, for #16 from his Tiny Town series, and Toronto's Kristine Moran, for her work Control and Choice.
Paintings by all of the competition's semi-finalists will be on display at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Toronto until Saturday. Staff
