Cinram International Income Fund has renewed its DVD manufacturing contract with 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment under a multiyear agreement.

The CD and DVD maker did not disclose financial details of the agreement in its announcement on Thursday, and did not specify how long the extended contract could last.

The company said it will serve as Fox's primary supplier for replication and distribution services across North America and Europe, a role it has maintained for 14 years.

"Cinram has a strong history of providing quality service, with unsurpassed commitment and dedication," said Mike Dunn, president of worldwide operations at Fox Home Entertainment.

"As the media landscape evolves, they will continue to play an integral role in our business for many years to come."

Cinram has been reworking its operations over the past several years as it tries to migrate from a solely physical media manufacturer into the world of digital rights management.

Digital content has become an increasingly large part of the entertainment business, and has hurt the bottom line of disc manufacturers like Cinram as DVDs and CD sales plummet.

"Fox helped firmly establish our growth from the company's origins in Canada to expansion in the U.S. and worldwide market that has resulted in top-notch levels of manufacturing and distribution services," said Cinram's chief executive officer Steve Brown in a release.

Last year, Cinram took an extra hit when Warner Home Video terminated its DVD manufacturing contract, though it branched into the world of digital rights management in January with an agreement to acquire media firm 1K Studios.
