In praise of slow – Sangria could be the poster child for this concept.

A carafe of sangria takes a page out of southern Europe's book, where spending an afternoon leisurely engaged in light day-drinking with friends isn't so much an occasion, but a tradition. If we can't do it as often as we'd like, we can at least do it really well, with this rosy twist, First Blush.

Ingredients

bottle of chilled rosé

four ounces pisco

two ounces dry orange curacao

half-cup of cold pineapple juice

quarter-cup of fresh lime juice

cubes of pineapple

fresh blueberries

a few chopped strawberries

Method

Add ingredients to a pitcher and stir. Serve over ice in a wine glass.
