wine review

The label says that "Obikwa" refers to one of South Africa's earliest peoples. It may, then, be a testament to the vacuous nature of the Internet that a Google search of that word turns up plenty about the wine and virtually nothing about the people. Time to visit the public library. In the meantime, here's a fine and wonderfully underpriced white to sip. Light and crisp yet with a semi-plump middle that offers up a kiwi and passionfruit core framed by crisp citrus. If you like affordable sauvignon blanc but not the wet grass that often comes along for the ride, here's your vino. Smooth-sipping and perfect as a summer house wine.
