A city-wide manhunt ended in the arrest of a suspect police considered "armed and dangerous" after a teenage girl was allegedly abducted at gunpoint Saturday.

CTV reported late Saturday that police had arrested Kyle Bowler, 25 in the violent abduction of a 16-year-old girl.

The girl went missing Saturday morning as she hung out with friends at a park in a neighbourhood on the city's south side.

Around 2:30 p.m., police issued an Amber Alert, which said they were looking for the girl, a potentially armed man, and a grey, 1995 Ford Windstar minivan.

A resident noticed the girl around 3:30 p.m., lying in an abandoned vehicle.

"She was sweaty and looked kind of confused," said an unidentified 18-year-old neighbour.

The girl was later taken to hospital for a medical evaluation.

Police said the girl and some friends were leaving a party at around 7 a.m. and caught a ride with a man in his mid-20s driving a grey minivan.

He allegedly made sexual advances toward one of the females. He was told to stop and the group got out.

Police said he pulled a gun on a male passenger before the teens scattered on foot.

A man was seen carrying a rifle in the area around 7:15 a.m., before getting into a grey minivan with a young woman.

The Amber Alert was called off Saturday afternoon when the van and girl were located.
