The broken bones and other injuries of twin baby girls who later died will not result in additional charges being laid against the girls' caregivers, the Slave Lake RCMP said yesterday.

The three-month-old girls, Angel and Shaniece Kerrigan-Kinahan, died in January in a motel room in Thunder Bay, Ont., after being stranded in a freezing car for three hours with their grandfather. Jerome Kerrigan, 55 -- who was awarded custody of the girls after they were seized from their teenage parents -- has been charged with criminal negligence in connection with the deaths. CP
