Filling out the western wing of the House of Lancaster strip joint on a busy commercial stretch of the Queensway in Etobicoke, the Foxxes Den is not just any old male dance club for female patrons.

It bills itself as the "number ONE adult entertainment venue in the Greater Toronto area," offering a "sophisticated yet fun atmosphere," enhanced by such gyrating star attractions as Tone Love, X-Tasy, Perfect Storm and Nitro.

But on Saturday night the action didn't stop there, Toronto police allege.

A 31-year-old woman who had stopped by the Foxxes Den with a group of friends says that after his performance, one of the dancers took her to the basement of the building and sexually attacked her.

Arrested at his home on Sunday after the woman complained, Domenic Antonelli, 35, is charged with forcible confinement and two counts of sexual assault.

He appeared in court Monday for a bail hearing.

Mr. Antonelli has no known history of such behaviour, and this appears to be the first allegation of impropriety at the club, which occupies the west wing of the House of Lancaster, a long-time local landmark.

Nonetheless, Constable Wendy Drummond said, "the manner in which this was done leads investigators to believe there may be other victims."

If so, detectives at 22 Division would like to hear from them.

There was little insight from the Foxxes Den.

A telephone inquiry to its listed number was fielded by a man who gave his name as George and said he was the manager of the House of Lancaster.

George said he knew nothing about the Foxxes Den.

"It's in the same building, but I have no idea about the details, it's a separate business."

Nor could George shed any light on the background of the dancer alleged to have committed the sexual assault.

"We have no idea who Mr. Antonelli is," he said.

The person to speak to about the Foxxes Den, said George, is Nick the manager.

But George was unsure when Nick might be around.

"He comes in and out."
