Canada's local telephone users now have a bill of rights to refer to when dealing with the big telecommunications companies. The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission has released the list, saying it wants to make it clearer to consumers what their rights are when it came to phone service. The bill of rights will appear in the white pages of telephone books and on the websites of telephone companies. The rights include not receiving calls from automated recordings selling goods or services, having local phone service where it's available, choosing your phone company where there's competition and blocking outgoing 1-900 or 1-976 calls for free.
