Vancouver-based aggregate producer Polaris Minerals Corp. yesterday announced a supply and distribution agreement with Cemex Inc., the largest cement company in the United States. The deal makes Polaris the exclusive supplier of ocean-shipped construction aggregate to Cemex in California, Oregon and Washington. Polaris operates the Orca quarry on Vancouver Island and is developing a second project. Polaris is already shipping aggregate to two Cemex terminals in California. The new alliance provides for the companies to develop additional terminals in the San Francisco Bay area. Terms were not disclosed. PLS (TSX) rose $2.18 to $13.78.
