RBC Dominion Securities is aiming to build out its research team to provide coverage of more asset classes and regions around the world, and today adds a new strategist as part of that goal.

Jordan Kotick joins RBC as managing director and head of cross-asset strategy.

"Jordan will provide regular market views and commentary across asset classes to clients globally," said Marc Harris, the bank's head of global research, which employs a staff of 350. The group already covers more than 1,500 stocks around the world, but wants to increase its reach.

Mr. Kotick previously spent a decade at Barclays in New York, where he became a managing director responsible for macro analysis and developing trading ideas in areas such as foreign exchange, commodities and equities.

At RBC, Mr. Kotick will be based in Toronto.
