Two-time Olympic silver medalist Caroline Brunet of Lac-Beauport, Que., qualified for her second final at the world canoe and kayak championship yesterday. Brunet, 33, won her semi-final heat in the women's K-1 500 semi-final ahead of Olympic and world champion Josefa Idem of Italy and Olympic bronze medalist Katrin Borchert of Australia. Canada qualified five entries yesterday to boost its total to nine, going into the weekend finals. All 1,000-metre finals are today, while the 500- and 200-metre finals are tomorrow.
