Canadian Rick Gibson had his best finish of the season yesterday, tying for fifth at the inaugural Motorola International Bintan tournament in Indonesia.

The Calgary native, who lives in Manila, entered the final round leading the Asian Tour event but managed only an even-par 72 yesterday at the Ria Bintan Golf Club. His four-round total was 10-under 278.

Gibson's 72 opened the door for American Jason Knutzon, who fired a final round of six-under 66 to reach 274 and claim his second career Asian Tour victory. Australian Peter Fowler was a shot behind in second.
