Neshama took the lead in the deep stretch and held off a late closing from Gamble's Ghost to take the Woodbine Oaks on Sunday.

Jockey Eurico da Silva guided Neshama to the victory, a race for three-year-old fillies that carries a $500,000 purse.

Neshama, who won the race in 1 minute 52.34 seconds, is owned by Carnegie Hall Stable, Kingfield Racing Stable, Anderson Farms and John Fielding and trained by Catherine Day Phillips.

It was the first Oaks win for both da Silva and Phillips and third career victory for Neshama.
