RICHMOND HILL, Ont., Jan. 10 - McAfee, Inc. has announced that its security services group, Foundstone Professional Services, a division of McAfee, has released SiteDigger 2.0, a security tool designed to help companies identify information that has been made available on the Web. The Foundstone SiteDigger 2.0 tool uses indexed search information at Google to quickly pinpoint human error information vulnerabilities that appear on search engines, such as the accidental exposure of confidential information including financial records, passwords, and personal information on an organization's Web site.

Armed with a profile of their Web site weaknesses using the SiteDigger tool, organizations can minimize information leaks and reduce the risk of exploitation. The recently upgraded SiteDigger 2.0 tool also has increased reporting and has increased the number of checks it can perform by sixfold to reduce the incidence of exposure of proprietary information.

The tool includes seven categories including: privacy, back-up files, configuration mistakes, remote administrator interface, error messages, public vulnerabilities, and technology profile. The tool provides signature update functionality and a dynamic graphical user interface.

SiteDigger 2.0 is one of the tools now available as a result of McAfee's acquisition of the Foundstone technology to help define, design, develop, deploy and maintain reliable and secure software.
