Robert McDuffie is an internationally-renowned violinist. He has soloed with many of the major orchestras around the world including those of New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Montreal, Toronto.

Toronto Symphony Orchestra and Robert McDuffie play Philip Glass, Roy Thomson Hall, Dec. 9 and 12. Philip Glass's new concerto for violinist Robert McDuffie and several commissioning orchestras is billed as the composer's response to Vivaldi's Four Seasons, whose motor rhythms aren't that remote from some of Glass's chugging patterns. The TSO and music director Peter Oundjian get first crack at the piece, on a program that includes music by Christopher Theofanidis (Wednesday only) and Beethoven.
