MERRILLVILLE, Ind., Aug. 2, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- NiSource Inc. (NYSE: NI) today announced, on a GAAP basis, net income available to common shareholders for the three months ended June 30, 2023, of $39.9 million, or $0.09 diluted earnings per share, compared to net income available to common shareholders of $53.2 million, or $0.12 diluted earnings per share, for the same period of 2022. For the six months ended June 30, 2023, on a GAAP basis NiSource's net income available to common shareholders was $359.1 million, or $0.80 diluted earnings per share, compared to net income available to common shareholders of $466.2 million, or $1.06 diluted earnings per share, for the same period of 2022.
