Strategic Elements launches EdgeiQ Portable pilot and hits Physical AI milestone

Strategic Elements Ltd ( (AU:SOR) ) has shared an update.

Strategic Elements’ Stealth Technologies unit has launched a pilot program for its new EdgeiQ Portable handheld system, aimed at solving complex underground spatial measurement challenges in mining where GPS and connectivity are limited. Building on its fixed-site EdgeiQ OnSite platform, which has already secured a commercial contract with a major global gold producer, the company is targeting a global haulage measurement and analysis market it estimates at more than A$500 million.

EdgeiQ Portable integrates LiDAR scanning, 3D mapping, spatial positioning and onboard analysis to deliver immediate underground data on-device, with multiple field trials completed alongside a Tier 1 mining partner. Located in Western Australia, Stealth is leveraging proximity to 58 operating underground mines for early deployments before expanding to an estimated 2,300 underground mines worldwide, positioning the technology for broader international adoption.

The company also announced a key milestone in its Physical AI program, successfully running an initial mining-specific AI model directly on EdgeiQ Portable hardware without cloud support. Trained on simulated mining rounds to predict overbreak and dilution, the model’s rapid onboard processing and repeatable deployment process lay the groundwork for more advanced predictive applications, potentially enhancing mine productivity and reinforcing Strategic Elements’ positioning at the intersection of AI and industrial operations.
